Disconnecting the drive cable from the heater

Fixing the heater drive cable in the holder

Cable length 6 (see fig. Removing the heater control panel) the air distribution damper actuator in the blue sheath is 250 mm, the length of the cable 4 of the heater radiator damper actuator in the purple sheath is 256 mm.
1. Remove the casing of the center console of the instrument panel, while pushing the heater control panel inward (see subsection 11.6).
2. By pressing the latch tab 2 (see fig. Disconnecting the drive cable from the heater control panel), disconnect one end of the cable 1 of the air distribution damper drive from the heater control panel 3.
3. Using a screwdriver, press the latch 3 (see fig. Disconnecting the drive cable from the heater), disconnect the other end of cable 2 from the heater.
4. Remove rope 1 (see fig. Fixing the heater drive cable in the holder) from holder 2 on the heater.
5. Remove the heater control cable in the same way.
6. Connect and fix the cable for the air distribution flaps on the adjusting device on the heater.
7. Use the cable to turn the windshield defogger until it is fully open (see below).
8. Set the knob on the heater control panel to position «windshield blower».
9. In this position, connect the cable to the heater control panel and fix it.
10. Attach the air distribution damper cable to the holder on the heater.
Attention! When the instrument panel is installed, the windshield defogger is not visible. In this case, connect the cables to the heater control panel and turn on the fan at maximum speed. Set the knob on the heater control panel to position «windshield blower». Make sure there is air coming out of the windscreen defroster grille and not out of the footwell nozzles. Otherwise, disconnect the air distribution damper cable from the control panel, turn the air control knob 360°, reconnect the cable and check the heater for correct operation again.
11. Connect and fix the heater radiator damper cable to the heater lever.
12. Turn the cable clockwise until it stops.
13. Set the knob on the heater control panel to position «heating off».
14. In this position, connect the cable to the heater control panel and fix it.
15. By turning the air temperature knob on the heater control panel, check the operation of the heater.
