Connecting the brake pedal to the pusher of the vacuum booster
1 – a pusher of the vacuum amplifier; 2 - bracket; 3 - brake pedal
Attention! Make sure that additional floor mats do not reduce brake pedal travel.
Removing
1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «-» battery.
2. Remove the glove box from the driver's side.
3. Unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the air duct for blowing the driver's legs (see subsection 11.6). On models equipped with «Comfort», remove the central control unit.
4. Remove the brake light switch (see subsection 9.10.7).
5. Disconnect the connector from the accelerator pedal position sensor.
6. Disconnect the brake pedal from the vacuum booster pusher.
7. To do this, fully depress pedal 1 (see fig. Disconnecting the brake pedal from the pusher of the vacuum booster) and insert a suitable metal rod 3 into the holes for the brake light switch of the bracket 2 and the pedal.
8. Pull the pedal 1 towards you, pushing the ball tip of the pusher 7 out of the retainer into the pedals using the rod (see fig. Pedal assembly).
9. Loosen the two plastic nuts 1 (see fig. Fastening of a casing of a cardan shaft of a steering column) fastening the casing of the cardan shaft of the steering column and remove the casing 2.
10. Turn away six nuts 2 and 5 fastenings of an arm of a pedal knot (see fig. Mounting the pedal assembly - the upper nut is not visible in this figure, all nuts are shown in fig. Pedal assembly, pos. 14).
11. Remove the pedal assembly from the studs.
Installation
1. Install the pedal assembly in reverse order.
2. Replace the pedal assembly nuts with new ones.
3. Fix 3 brakes in the pedal (see fig. Connecting the brake pedal to the pusher of the vacuum booster) ball tip of the pusher 1 of the vacuum booster.
The tightening torque of the nuts for fastening the pedal assembly bracket is 28 Nm.
