1. Place the shift lever in neutral position.
2. Press the clutch pedal all the way down.
3. Engage the starter by turning the key in the ignition switch to position III (without pressing the accelerator pedal). Do not turn on the starter for more than 10 s. If the engine starts to run steadily, release the key; under the action of a return spring, it will return to position II. If the engine is hot, depress the accelerator pedal lightly.
4. If the engine does not start on the first try, turn off the ignition by turning the key to position I and after about 30 seconds, turn the starter on again.
5. If the engine does not start after the second attempt, it is necessary to identify the malfunction (Possibly blown fuel pump fuse).
6. After starting the engine, pull away immediately. Do not warm up the engine at idle. It may overheat.
7. Until the engine has warmed up to operating temperature, do not allow high engine speeds.
