To check the tightness of the valves, turn the head upside down with the combustion chambers and pour kerosene into them. If kerosene does not leak out of the combustion chambers within 3 minutes, the valves are tight.
1. Apply a thin layer of lapping paste to the valve face and insert the valve into the block head.
2. Clamp the valve stem in the lapping tool.
3. Turn the valve in both directions using the tool, periodically pressing the valve against the seat. An external sign of satisfactory grinding is the monochromatic matte gray color of the working chamfers of the valve and seat.
4. After lapping, thoroughly wipe the valve and seat with a clean cloth, then rinse to remove any remaining lapping paste.
