Outer protective door trim
1 - protective foil of the adhesive surface; 2 – a protective overlay of a forward door; 3 – a protective overlay of a back door; 4 - outer sheet of the front door; 5 - outer sheet of the rear door; 6 - adhesive surface
The overlay is made of EPDM polypropylene with the addition of 10% talc. The protective overlays have a plane with which they are glued to the door. It has a self-adhesive layer. The joint surface on the doors must be well cleaned with technical gasoline or some other degreasing agent before gluing. From the lining, you must first remove the foil and then (after heating at 30°C) press against the door lacquer. The placement of the lining coincides with the longitudinal recess on the outer leaf of the door. The recess is covered with an overlay. The surface of the pads is smooth, the color is only black. The ending of the lining of the front doors is semicircular in front, even at the B-pillar. The rear pads at the B-pillars also have even endings according to the edge of the door; on the back side, the endings are beveled in accordance with the edge of the door, but the transitions have a radius.
Due to the fact that the shape of the lining in the section is not symmetrical, the protective lining differs not only for the front and rear doors, but also for the right and left ones.
