The drum for drum-shoe brakes of the rear wheels is made of gray cast iron. Asbestos-free friction linings are riveted onto pads, each with ten rivets.
The parking brake is integrated in the brake mechanism mounted on the brake shoe holder. The operating clearance of the brakes is adjusted automatically.
Before disassembling the brake drum, it is necessary to return the self-aligning wedge to its original (top) position by lifting it up with a screwdriver inserted into the threaded hole in the drum.
