General information about wheels and tires

In Skoda Octavia cars, alternatively, either 14-inch or 15-inch wheels are used, and, consequently, wheel rims and tires of the corresponding diameter. Each wheel is fixed with five threaded bolts M 14x1.5 (M = 120 Nm), the threaded part of which has a length of 27.5 mm and a spherical seating surface with a ball radius r = 12 mm. The height of the hexagon is 12.5 mm.

Automobile wheels are dynamically balanced and it is recommended to check this balance always in the range of 10-15 thousand km traveled.

The largest allowable unbalance of the wheel is 8 grams, in the outer and inner planes at the radius of the rim.

Only a calibrated manometer is used for measurement. The maximum allowable wear of the tread pattern simultaneously gives information about the operating conditions of transport devices.
