The timing camshaft gear is driven by the camshaft belt drive by a toothed belt, simultaneously driving the coolant pump.
The CR POWER timing belt bears the designation 137 STD 8–19 (137 teeth belt, STD = grade, 8 = tooth pitch, 19 = tooth width). The rubber belt with wire reinforcement is constantly tensioned by a sprung roller.
When installing the toothed belt, it is necessary to set the piston of the first cylinder at top dead center, and the mark on the camshaft drive gear of the timing mechanism must be opposite the mark on the front cover. At the same time, the driven gear of the timing mechanism must be fixed on the camshaft so that the mark on it is opposite the mark on the head boss (see fig. Marks for mutual installation of timing gears).
The drive gear of the gas distribution mechanism is planted on the cylindrical surface of the end of the camshaft. Attached to it with four M8 bolts is a belt pulley with radial grooves for the alternator drive belt and other auxiliary equipment.
The timing belt is covered with a plastic casing, consisting of three parts. Before dismantling the timing belt, the timing belt must be (if it is still used) indicate the direction of its movement. Timing gears, toothed belt, casings and other details are shown in fig. Timing gear housings, cylinder head seals and cylinder head cover.
