Non-contact ignition is solved by high voltage separation. Two dual ignition coils with an integrated ignition element are connected to the respective output stage in one unit and feed two spark plugs. This is how the ignition of the first and fourth cylinders is connected, and the second pair serves the second and third cylinders. This ensures that the ignition order in the individual cylinders is maintained.
To identify "detonation ignition" on the crankcase (on the suction side) There are two knock sensors. One sensor detects knock from the first and second cylinder, the second knock sensor - from the third and fourth cylinder. System "studies" during non-knocking operation of the engine, distinguish the normal noise of individual cylinders. Hence, if detonation occurs at (subsequent) ignition in any cylinder, the ignition point will be moved back by 3°crank angle. This later setting is discretely canceled again when the detonation disappears. At the most, you can additionally reset the ignition point to 15°of crankshaft rotation.
