The coolant concentration must be (also all year round) such that the mixture does not freeze at temperatures up to -25°C. Therefore, the proportion of liquid with a reduced solidification temperature should be at least 40% and not more than 60% of the total volume (mix 2:3).
Attention! High concentration reduces the cooling effect and also reduces the resistance to freezing.
Lower concentration, on the other hand, reduces corrosion resistance. At a stable temperature of 20°C, the liquid level in the reserve tank must be between the MIN and MAX marks.
It is possible to mix all liquids with a lower freezing point that comply with the VW TL 774/D or C standard.
The replacement of the coolant can be carried out both by yourself and in the service. The liquid from the cooling system must be drained after it has cooled to ambient temperature.
It must be emphasized that the cooling mixture loses its properties when it comes into contact with fats, as well as with zinc (when preparing the mixture, do not use galvanized dishes).
When draining the liquid, use a container of such size to be sure that all of it has flowed out of the cooling system.
Lacquered surfaces of the body, stained with coolant, must be immediately rinsed with water. If the liquid comes into contact with the skin, it should be washed off immediately with soap and water. Especially it is necessary to protect the eyes. All low-pour fluids based on MEG must be handled as poisons. Next, you need to follow the manufacturer's instructions, which are always given on the container with the purchased liquid.
