Front exhaust assembly - 1.9 TDI engine - 66 kW
1 - the front of the exhaust; 2 - seal; 3 - front axle; 4 - supporting structure with exhaust holders; 5 - elastic element
Rear exhaust assembly - 1.9 TDI engine - 66 kW
1 – a back part of an exhaust; 2 - clamp; 3 - bearing structure of the exhaust; 4 - front exhaust bracket; 5 - middle bracket; 6 - rear bracket
This exhaust assembly has a front end with a square flange drilled with four holes to fit over four screwed bolts. But it is screwed with four nuts not to the manifold flange, but to the turbocharger flange located on the manifold.
The exhaust has an elastic element in its front part, allowing oscillations between the engine and the exhaust. It contains a steel sheet bellows wrapped with stainless steel wire. Behind the elastic element is a catalyst. On the tube connected to the elastic element, there is also a double finger, which is a part of the elastic suspension of the front of the exhaust. Two elastic sockets are placed in brackets on a common supporting structure screwed to the auxiliary frame (front axle beam).
There is no expansion chamber at the rear of the exhaust. The exhaust silencer is powerful and has two outputs.
The front and rear parts of the exhaust are connected tightly with a two-piece clamp with fasteners. The position of the clamp is set by marks on both parts, and there must be a certain gap between both tubes after assembly. Fingers are welded behind the clamp, with the help of which the exhaust fits into elastic sockets located on the exhaust supporting structure.
