Air filter - mounting reamer (motor 1.6–55 kW)
1 – filter cover; 2 - filter insert; 3 - filter housing; 4 - seal; 5 - hose for venting air from the crankcase of the crankshaft; 6 - suction of warm air; 7 - suction neck with a control chamber
In this version of the suction tract and air filter, cold air is taken off by a plastic pipe in the engine compartment. Behind the nozzle is an adjustment chamber in which the incoming air is mixed with warm air heated in the space between the exhaust manifold and the casing above it. And this air, heated above the exhaust, mixes with the surrounding, cooler air before entering the hose. The neck of the casing above the exhaust pipe has two opposite holes through which air is sucked in for mixing. The holes must not be blocked by the hose connecting the neck to the control chamber. This hose is resilient, made from a combination of organosilicon (silicone) rubber, non-combustible textiles and reinforce them with steel wire, with which the hose is wound in a spiral. The hose is pushed onto the adjustment chamber and secured with a screw clamp.
An oval plastic air filter of two parts is installed on the adjusting chamber. An annular filter insert made of folded filter paper is inserted into the lower part of its body.
The liner has a conventional plastic head for sealing in the filter housing.
Active filtration surface 7300 sq. cm. The replacement interval is set at 60,000 km during normal operation. When operating in a dusty environment, the interval must be reduced accordingly. However, in both cases, it is necessary to change the bearing after two years, even if the car has not driven the prescribed number of kilometers.
The cover is screwed to the bottom with four screws (with slots for Phillips screwdriver). The whole - assembled - filter is then placed in the presence of a rubber seal on the neck of the throttle body and screwed to the suction module with four more screws.
At the bottom of the air filter there is a fitting for fitting a rubber deaeration hose connecting the air filter to the oil separator.
