Removal and installation of an internal sealant of a back door
When assembled at the factory, the internal door seals are coated with sealant, put on the doorway flanging and rolled on with a roller.
Note: When the seal is removed, the sealant on the inside of the seal is partly lost. In this case, the edges are slightly bent. When reinstalling the removed seal, the necessary tightness and reliability of fastening are not ensured. For this reason, a completely removed seal must be replaced with a so-called "seal installed with a mallet". When partially removing the seals, the edges of the seal must be pressed together before installation. Removal and installation of an internal sealant of the right door are described below. The inner seal of the left door is removed and installed in the same way.
Remove the pillar cover. Detach inner door seal -1- from body opening lip -2-.
Installation
Start fitting the seal at the top radius of the door opening -arrow b-. Sealing joint in place - see arrow a-.
Removal and installation of an external sealant of a door
Note: Check clips -2- for damage and replace if necessary.
Release clips -2- and remove seal -1- from door -3-.
Installation
Press seal -1- against door and snap catches -2- into place.
Note: The seal must be in direct contact with the glass guide.
