Note: The vehicle must be on wheels when adjusting the rear lid. The lid lock is screwed directly to the trunk lid. There are no oblong holes on it and therefore it is not adjustable. The setting buffers on the left and right sides are not intended for adjustment. Their task is to stabilize or dampen the trunk lid. The boot lid is installed correctly if the gap is the same around the entire perimeter in the closed position, the boot lid is not recessed and does not protrude. The trunk lid should lock into the lock without much effort.
Use the gauges to adjust or check the gaps. The boot lid can be adjusted horizontally and vertically in the enlarged hinge holes by loosening the screws -3-. Screw tightening torque -3- (10 Nm). After adjustment, perform anti-corrosion treatment of hinges and screws. Adjust the hood cover on the cover latch. Adjust the rubber damper on the left and right side.
Lock latch adjustment
Note: After loosening the screws -1-, the lock catch -2- can be adjusted by moving it in the large holes -arrows a-and -arrows b-. Adjust the latch -2- so that the notch of the tailgate lock with swivel latch is exactly opposite the latch -2-.
Loosen screws -1-. Move lock -2- to upper position and tighten screws -1-. Close the trunk lid and check the adjustment. Tightening torque for screws -1- (20 N.m).
Rubber stop adjustment
Adjust rubber buffers -2- so that boot lid -1- closes effortlessly and locks.
