Attention! Observe safety regulations when handling pyrotechnic components. Before starting work on pyrotechnic assemblies (e.g. by disconnecting the electrical connector) the mechanic must remove the electrostatic charge from himself.
Remove the front seat. Remove left trim without height adjustment or with height adjustment. Remove right trim. Disconnect connectors (depending on vehicle configuration). Remove screws -2 and 4- (35 Nm). Detach backrest frame -3- from seat frame -1-.
Installation in reverse order.
Removal and installation of the frame of the lumbar support
Remove the seat. Take off the back. Remove the upholstery and remove the foam cushion from the backrest. Remove screws -3- (2 Nm) and detach the lumbar support adjuster from the backrest frame -1-. Detach side fasteners -6 and 5- on both sides of backrest frame -1-. Detach the side springs -2 and 7- from the backrest frame -1. Detach the lumbar support frame -4- from the fasteners at the top -arrows-. Remove lumbar support frame -4- from backrest frame.
Installation in reverse order.
Remove headrest guides
Note: For better clarity, the head restraint guides are shown in the removed position.
Remove the front seat. Remove the front seat belt buckle. Remove the seat cover from the tunnel side. Remove seat trim on door sill side: Seat not height adjustable. The seat regulated on height. Remove the upholstery and front seat back cushion. Unlock catch -arrow a-of head restraint guide with button -1-. Pull headrest guide together with button -1- out of backrest -3-. Open catch -arrow B- for head restraint guide -2-. Pull headrest guide -2- out of backrest panel -3-.
Installation in reverse order.
Removing the head restraint
Use a screwdriver, for example, to unlock the head restraint catch -1- located under the backrest cover. Similarly, unlock the latch on the other side. Pull the head restraint out of the guides.
Note: For better visibility, the head restraint guides are shown partially dismantled. When unlocking, take care not to damage the backrest upholstery.
