Suck out as much brake fluid as possible from the reservoir using a suction device.
For vehicles with manual gearbox
Disconnect the return hose -B- of the clutch master cylinder from the hydraulic brake reservoir and fasten slightly higher.
Further for all vehicles
If fitted, unplug connector -1- from brake light switch -F-, connector -2- from vacuum sensor -G608- and connector -3- from brake fluid warning sensor -F34-. Disconnect the wiring harness from the brake master cylinder.
Remove screw -1-. Pull hydraulic brake reservoir -2- out of plugs.
Mark brake lines -1-. Disconnect brake lines -1- from brake master cylinder, plug brake lines with plugs from repair kit -1 NO 698 311 A-. Remove nuts -2- from brake master cylinder. If present, remove protective cover. Carefully remove the brake master cylinder from the brake booster.
Installation
Installation in reverse order. When installing, pay particular attention to the following:
Note: Additional work must be carried out when disconnecting and connecting the battery cable to earth.
When assembling the master brake cylinder with the brake booster, pay attention to the correct position of the pusher in the master brake cylinder. Remove air from the brake system.
