If the fuel filter needs to be removed only because of tightness
Disconnect fuel supply lines -1- and -2-. Unlock and disconnect the quick coupler. Remove fuel lines -1- and -2- from bracket -arrow- on coolant expansion tank -3-.
Release screws -2-. Loosen nut -1-.
Unlock bracket -arrow- and remove fuel lines -1-.
Version with water level sender -G120-: Unplug connector at water level sender -1-. Set aside the wiring harness.
If you need to open the fuel filter
Remove screws -arrows- from -1- to -5- in the order shown. Catch up any fuel leaked during removal. Remove top part of fuel filter -1- from fuel filter housing -2-. Set aside the top part of the fuel filter -1- with the fuel lines connected.
If the fuel filter needs to be replaced
Detach fuel hoses -3- to -5-. Using spring clip pliers, open the spring clips. Unscrew bolts -2-. Loosen nut -1-. Version with water level sender -G120-: Unplug connector at water level sender -1-. Remove fuel filter. Catch up any fuel leaked during removal.
Installation
Installation in reverse order.
Note: Observe the instructions for the fuel hoses in the engine compartment. Secure all hoses with clamps.
Fill the fuel system with fuel/bleed air from the fuel system.
