Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers. Remove tailgate trim. Remove screws -2- (0.8 Nm). Unlock catches -arrows-.
Note: To facilitate the release of the latches, a welding wire with a diameter of 4 mm, bent as shown, can be used.

- c = 120 mm
Disconnect connector -1-. Remove additional brake light. Installation in reverse order.
Note: Optional (upper) The brake light consists of LEDs that are not individually replaceable.
Combi
Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers. Remove tailgate trim. Push strips -1- -arrows A- and remove them from brake light -arrows B-.
Use a screwdriver to pry out the fasteners -1- -arrows-.
Note: All-round gasket glued (for reliable sealing) glued to the body. With force, slowly and carefully, squeeze the edges of the lantern out of the opening.
Using rear pressure, press brake light -3- out of opening -arrows-. Disconnect connector -1-. Turn the clip to unlock and disconnect the washer connector -2-. If the removed lamp is installed again: check the seal around the perimeter. It protects the flashlight from dirt and dust.
Note: If any damage is found, replace the seal.
Installation
Note: Optional (upper) The brake light consists of LEDs that are not individually replaceable.
Attach metal clamps -2- to brake light.
Note: Install the metal clamps -2- so that the lugs on their ends fit under the edge of the glass of the lantern (If the clamps are installed correctly, they spring back when -arrows C- are pressed).
Fit the locking strips -1- onto the lamp -arrows A- and lock them by sliding them as far as they will go -arrows B-. If the original headlight is installed, check the security and correct position of the seal around the perimeter.
Note: If any damage is found, replace the seal. Before installing a new seal, do not forget to remove the protective film. The opening in which the lantern is installed must be cleaned of dirt and glue residue.
Connect connector -1- and washer connector -2-. Insert assembled brake light -3- into opening in tailgate -arrows-. Check the operation and tightness of the brake light.
