Front airbags
Driver airbag in steering wheel, front passenger airbag in front panel
Steering Wheel Safety Distance/Inflated Airbag
The front airbag system provides additional protection for the head and chest area of the driver and front passenger in a frontal collision in a serious accident. The driver's frontal airbag is located in the steering wheel. The front passenger airbag is located in the front panel above the glove box. When activated, the airbags deploy in front of the driver and front passenger. When the driver and front passenger are immersed in a fully deployed airbag, their forward movement is gradually slowed down, as a result, the risk of injury to the head and upper body is reduced.
Driver's knee airbag under the steering column
The driver's knee airbag provides a high degree of protection for the driver's legs. The driver's knee airbag A is located at the bottom of the dashboard under the steering column. The driver's knee airbag is deployed together with the frontal airbag in a severe frontal collision. When diving into a fully deployed airbag, the forward movement of the body is shocklessly slowed down and the risk of injury to the driver's legs is reduced.
Installation location of side airbags: front rear
Gas-filled side airbags
Side airbag system provides additional protection for the upper body area (chest, abdomen and pelvis) driver and passengers in a side impact in a serious accident. The front side airbags are installed in the front seatbacks - A. The rear side airbags are installed between the rear door opening and the rear seatback - B. When the side airbags are deployed on the corresponding side, the head airbag and the seat belt pretensioner automatically deploy. When the airbag deploys in a collision, the forces acting on the driver or passenger are reduced and the risk of injury to the entire upper body is reduced (chest, abdomen and pelvis) from the side facing the vehicle door.
Installation location of the head airbag/Inflated head airbag
The head airbag system provides additional protection for the head and neck area of the driver and passengers in the event of a side impact in a serious accident. Head airbags are installed above the doors, on both sides of the passenger compartment - A. In a side collision, the head airbag inflates together with the corresponding side airbag and the front seat belt pretensioner on the side of the collision. When triggered, the airbag covers the glass area of the front and rear doors, as well as the area of the door pillar - B. The blow to the head on the interior parts is softened due to the deployed head airbag. Due to the reduction of the forces acting in the head area and some limitation of possible head movements, the loads on the cervical region are also reduced. Also in the event of a side impact, the head airbag provides additional protection by closing the front door pillar.
Deactivating airbags
The airbag deactivation option is provided for use in certain cases, for example: when a child seat is installed in the front passenger seat, in which the child is positioned with his back in the direction of travel; if, despite the correct adjustment of the driver's seat, the driver fails to maintain a minimum distance of 25 cm between the center of the steering wheel and the chest; if due to disability it is necessary to install special equipment in the car; when other seats are installed in the vehicle (e.g. orthopedic seats without side airbags). The front passenger airbag can be deactivated using the key switch.
Airbag system control
The readiness of the airbag system is controlled electronically, incl. when one of the airbags is disabled.
Airbag deactivated with tester
The control lamp lights up for 4 seconds when the ignition is turned on and then flashes for about 12 seconds.
Frontal airbag deactivated with key switch in glove box
The control lamp is on after the ignition is turned on for 4 seconds. The control lamp 3 lights up after the ignition is turned on.
Key switch for front passenger airbag/contr. front passenger airbag deactivation/activation lamp
The key switch only deactivates the front passenger airbag.
Shutdown
Switch off the ignition. Open the storage box on the passenger side. Turn the airbag switch cylinder to position 2 OFF with the key. Close the glove box on the front passenger side. Check if the counter is on, the lamp in the inscription 3 PASSENGER AIR BAG ON OFF after turning on the ignition.
Inclusion
Switch off the ignition. Open the storage box on the passenger side. Turn the airbag switch cylinder to position 1 ON with the key. Close the glove box on the front passenger side. Check if the counter is on, the lamp in the inscription 3 PASSENGER AIR BAG ON OFF after turning on the ignition. The warning lamp goes out 65 seconds after the airbag switch status changes, or after the ignition is switched on.
ISOFIX eyelets
Between the cushion and the backrest of the outer rear seats or the front passenger seat, there are two eyelets for attaching a child seat with the ISOFIX attachment system. First, remove the covers to gain access to the lugs. After removing the child seat, reinstall the covers.
Eyelets of the TOP TETHER system
The eyelets for attaching the top tether of the TOP TETHER child seat are located on the back of the backrests of the outer rear seats.
