Economy mode
This mode is suitable for a relaxed driving style. It saves fuel. The choice of this mode affects, first of all, the following systems.
Engine (drive unit)
The gas pedal responds more slowly to pressing, acceleration is even less sharp than in Normal mode. After pressing the key, acceleration is slower than in Normal mode. Recommendations for gear selection are focused on minimum fuel consumption. If the START-STOP system has been switched off manually, it is automatically switched on again. The automatic transmission is set to mode E. The noise from the engine in this mode is felt less than in normal mode.
Adaptive cruise control (ACC)
When the adaptive cruise control is on, acceleration is smoother than in normal mode.
Adaptive lighting (AFS)
The system turns off automatically.
Climate control Ciimatronic
The climate control system is oriented towards low energy consumption. For this reason, the desired temperature setting is set later than with the Normal setting.
Individual Mode
In Individual mode, each system can be set to Normal, Sport or Economy mode individually.
Operating principle
Preventive security system (next: system) Increases protection for the driver and front passenger in the event of a collision and rollover. The system works automatically when the following conditions are present: the ignition is on, the vehicle is moving at a speed of more than 30 km/h. In critical situations (e.g. during emergency braking or sudden change of direction) The following measures may be taken individually or in combination to reduce the risk of serious injury. Fastened seat belts for front passenger and driver are automatically tightened for a closer fit to the body, Front door windows (if they were open) close automatically, leaving a gap of approx. S cm from the edge of the glass. The sliding/tilting sunroof closes. As soon as the critical situation is resolved, the tension of the seat belts is weakened again. The system has 2 levels of protection.
First level of protection
The system works already in dynamic driving conditions. This measure serves primarily to keep the driver and front passenger in their seats. The first level of protection can be deactivated in one of the following ways: deactivating the function in the infotainment system, deactivating the ASR, selecting the driving mode Sport.
Second level of protection
The system intervenes only in a situation that is assessed as critical, for example, when braking hard at high speed. This level of protection is not disabled.
