The factory fills with high-quality oil, which can be used all year round, except for extreme climatic zones. Motor oils are constantly being improved. SKODA Service Centers receive information from the manufacturer about current changes. Therefore, we recommend that you change the oil in one of the SKODA service centers.. Specifications below (VW standards) must be indicated on the container separately or together with other specifications. Filling volumes are given taking into account the replacement of the oil filter. Check the oil level when filling, do not fill too much. The oil level must be between the marks.

Carefully! Do not add any additives to the engine oil - risk of serious damage to engine parts!

(A) For diesel engines without a particulate filter, VW 505 01 engine oil can be optimally used.

Checking the oil level

Oil dipstick

The dipstick shows the engine oil level. The vehicle must stand on an equal horizontal surface, the engine must be still warm after operation. Stop the engine. Wait a few minutes for the engine oil to drain back into the oil pan. Open the hood. Remove the oil dipstick. Wipe the oil dipstick with a clean cloth and insert as far as it will go. Remove the dipstick again and check the oil level.

Oil level in zone A

Adding oil is prohibited.

Oil level in zone B

You can add oil. The oil level can then be in area A.

Oil level in zone C

It is required to add oil so that the oil level is at least in area B. The engine uses some oil. Depending on driving style and operating conditions, oil consumption can be up to 0.5 l/1000 km. In the first 5,000 km, oil consumption may be even higher. The oil level must be checked at regular intervals. It is best to do this at every gas station, or before long trips. When the engine is under heavy load, such as long motorway driving in the summer, when driving with a trailer or driving in high mountains, it is recommended to keep the oil level in zone A - but not higher. A too low oil level is reported by counter. icon in the instrument cluster. Check the oil level with the dipstick as soon as possible. Add the appropriate amount.

Carefully! The oil level must never be higher than zone A - risk of damage to the exhaust system!

Addendum

Check the oil level. Unscrew the engine oil filler cap. Pour oil of the recommended brand in portions of 0.5 liters. Checking the oil level. Carefully screw on the oil filler cap and insert the oil dipstick as far as it will go.

Replacement

The engine oil should be changed at the prescribed intervals, or according to the maintenance indicator.
