Removal and installation of the lip seal of the intake camshaft from the side of the pulleys
Remove toothed belt from camshaft pulleys. Remove bolt -1- and remove camshaft gear.
Remove oil seal -1- using puller -T20143/1-.
Installation
Note: Do not lubricate new lip seal.
Push oil seal -1- over press-in sleeve -T10478/3- onto guide sleeve -T10478/2-. Mounting position: The closed side of the lip seal points towards the press-in sleeve. Separate the pressing and guide sleeves from each other.
Push guide sleeve -T10478/2- with lip seal -1- onto camshaft.
Press in oil seal to stop using drift -T10478/1- and screw -1- of camshaft pulley. Install toothed belt (adjust valve timing).
Removal and installation of the lip seal of the exhaust camshaft from the side of the pulleys
Remove toothed belt from camshafts. Remove bolt -2- and remove camshaft gear. Remove oil seal -1- using puller -T20143/1-.
Installation
Note: Do not lubricate new lip seal.
Push oil seal -1- over press-in sleeve -T10478/3- onto guide sleeve -T10478/2-. Mounting position: The closed side of the lip seal points towards the press-in sleeve. Separate the pressing and guide sleeves from each other. Fit guide sleeve -T10478/2- with lip seal -1- to camshaft.
Press in oil seal up to stop using drift -T10478/1- with screw -T10478/5-. Install toothed belt (adjust valve timing).
Removing and installing lip seal on exhaust camshaft on gearbox side
Remove the coolant pump sprocket. Carefully insert hook -T20143/1- between camshaft and oil seal -1-. Pry off and remove the lip seal.
Installation
Note: Do not lubricate new lip seal.
Push oil seal -1- over press-in sleeve -T10479/3- onto guide sleeve -T10479/2-. Mounting position: The closed side of the lip seal points towards the press-in sleeve. Separate the pressing and guide sleeves from each other.
Position guide sleeve -T10479/2- with lip seal -2- centrally on camshaft. Fix the guide sleeve to the camshaft with the screw -1- of the pulley for driving the coolant pump. Slide the lip seal onto the camshaft and unscrew the guide sleeve.
Press in oil seal up to stop -2- using drift -T10479/1- and screw -1- for coolant pump drive pulley. Install the coolant pump sprocket.
Removing and installing camshaft adjuster valve 1 -N205-
Disconnect connector -1-. Remove screw -2- and remove camshaft adjuster valve 1 -N205-.
Installation
Installation in reverse order.
Note: Replace sealing ring.
