Details and components of the camshaft drive chain

Note: After working on chain drives, adjust the chain length.

1. 4 Nm and tighten by 90° (¼ vol.): replace

2. Chain tensioner: under spring tension; lock with locking pin -T40267- before removing

3. Drive chain tensioner shoe

4. Guide bolt, 20 Nm

5. 4 Nm and tighten by 180° (½ vol.): replace

6. Regulator valves, 35 Nm: left hand thread; remove with tool -T10352/2-

7. Bearing caps

8. Stabilizer bar: camshaft drive chains

9. Camshaft housing

10. Camshaft timing chain: before removing, mark the direction of travel with a colored mark

11. Stabilizer bar: camshaft drive goals

12. Guide bolt, 20 Nm

13. Three-stage sprocket: on the crankshaft
