Note: Replace cylinder head screws. During installation work, self-locking nuts and screws, tightened with additional rotation to a given angle, as well as sealing rings and gaskets, must be replaced. The plastic gaskets supplied to protect the open valves can only be removed immediately before installing the cylinder head. When replacing the cylinder head or its gasket, replace the coolant and engine oil.

Sequence when loosening the cylinder head screws
Remove screws -arrows-. Loosen cylinder head screws in sequence -1...10-.
The sequence for tightening the cylinder head screws
Tighten cylinder head bolts in sequence -1...10- as follows.
1. Pre-tighten with a torque wrench to 40 Nm.
2. 90° (tighten ¼ rev.).
3. 90° (tighten ¼ rev.).
4. Pre-tighten screws -arrows- to 4 Nm.
5. Turn screws -arrows- by 90° (¼ vol.).
