Engine number

Engine number ("letter designation of the engine11 and "serial number") located on the left side of the engine/gearbox interface -arrow-. Additionally, on the upper cover of the timing chain there is a sticker with "engine code" and "serial number of the engine". Starting with the letter "S"" four-character letters are used. The first 3 characters indicate the working volume of the engine and its design. They, including the serial number, are stamped on the cylinder block. The 4th character reflects the power and torque of the engine and depends on the engine control unit. The four-digit letter designation of the engine is indicated on the vehicle data sticker in the service book and on the engine control unit.

Removing and installing the engine cover

Carefully detach engine cover from retainers -arrows- one by one. Do not remove the engine cover jerkily or from one side.

Installation

To avoid damage to the engine cover, do not strike it (including hands or tools). Position the cover over the engine, taking into account the position of the oil filler neck and the oil dipstick. Press the engine cover into the rubber bushings first with the left side and then with the right side.
