Note: The conditions for correct adjustment of the shift mechanism are as follows.
Gearbox, clutch and clutch drive in perfect condition. The shift mechanism is easy to move. Serviceable elements of management and transfer elements of the mechanism of switching. Gearbox in neutral position. Position release tool -T30098- midway between trim frame and gear lever boot -arrow 1-. Using the release tool -T30098-, carefully press the selector lever boot out of the center console -arrow 2-. Screw the boot up over the shift handle. Move the shift lever from neutral to the left into the 1st/2nd gear shift channel.
Secure gear lever with knock-in pin -T10027A-. Remove the air filter if installed above the gearbox. Unlock the locks for the shift cable and gear select cable as follows:
Press the movable sleeve on the gearshift cable and the gear selector cable forward as far as it will go - see. arrow 1-. Turn the movable sleeves in the direction of -arrow 2- as far as they will go until they lock into place.
Note: The drive cables must enter the cages.
Gearbox in neutral position. Lock the selector shaft as follows: Move the selector lever in the direction of the arrow -1- downwards into the 1st/2nd gear change channel. In doing so, turn the bracket -A- in the direction of the arrow -2- until it engages. In this case, the gearshift rod is locked and no longer moves. Make sure that the shift cable and gear selector cable slide freely into the locks.
Turn movable sleeve on selector cable and gear selector cable in direction -arrow- as far as it will go. The springs press the movable bushings into their original position.
Note: Drive cables are adjusted.
Turn the square -A- to its original position (in -direction of the arrow-). Remove knock-in pin -T10027A- from selector mechanism. Install the shift lever cover. Install the air filter, if removed.
Function test
In the neutral position, the shift lever must be in the 3rd/4th gear shift channel. Press the clutch. Engage all gears several times. Pay particular attention to the function of the reverse gear lock. If it sticks when re-shifting, re-adjust the shift mechanism.
