Replacing parts of the Airbag system

Attention. Trip-related traffic accident (turning on the launcher) airbag system modules.

It is essential to replace the following parts with new original parts:

• Air bag central control unit VW¹⁾
• Driver's Side Airbag Module²⁾
• Airbag module on the passenger side of the front seat²⁾
• Side airbag module on the driver's side²⁾
• Side Airbag Module on the Passenger's Side of the Front Seat²⁾
• Seat upholstery³
• Airbag head module on the driver's side²⁾
• Airbag Head Module on Passenger Side, Front Seat²⁾
• Top panel (upholstery) racks⁴⁾
• Top panel (upholstery) racks⁴⁾
• Top panel (upholstery) racks⁴⁾
• Shaped roof lining⁴⁾
• Return ring with guide slip ring⁵⁾
• Belt pretensioner with seat belt for driver²⁾
• Belt pretensioner with seat belt for front seat passenger²⁾

¹⁾ In case of operation (switching on the launcher) front and side airbags or airbags for head protection and deflation devices for pre-tensioners, it is possible to reuse the part - 3 times in total.

²⁾ In the event that a trigger occurs (turning on the launcher).

³ In the event that a trigger occurs (turning on the launcher) side module.

⁴⁾ In the event that a trigger occurs (turning on the launcher) head protection module.

⁵⁾ In the event that a trigger occurs (turning on the launcher) airbag module for the driver.

Note.

• If necessary (established as a result of visual inspection) all damaged parts must be replaced with new original parts.
• After replacing the control unit and other damaged parts, the control unit must be coded again.
• Transport accident not accompanied by operation (turning on the launcher) airbag module.
• If the warning light for the Airbag system (K 75) does not indicate any malfunction and the parts of the Airbag system are not damaged, then there is no need to replace any of the parts of the Airbag system. Seat belts must be checked separately.

Registering Airbag Parts

When replacing parts of the Airbag system with new original spare parts, the self-adhesive plates with numbers must be removed from the following parts and pasted into the document Part No. 000 010 100 A and sent to the Service Department for registration (Czech Republic) or the importer (other countries):

• Central control unit for the Airbag system.
• Airbag module for the driver.
• Airbag module for front seat passenger.
• Side airbag module on the driver's side with seat upholstery.
• Side airbag module on the passenger side of the front seat together with seat upholstery.
• Side impact acceleration sensor on the driver's side.
• Side impact acceleration sensor on the passenger side of the front seat.
• Side impact pressure sensor on the driver's side.
• Side impact pressure sensor on the passenger side of the front seat.
• Airbag module for head protection on the driver's side.
• Airbag module for head protection on the passenger side of the front seat.
• Shaped roof lining for head protection Airbag.
