Removing
1. Remove the rear wheel.
2. Release the brakes (set the brakes to their original position).
3. Move the wedge (self-adjusting state of the parking brake lever) through the hole for the wheel bolt in the brake drum using a screwdriver in an upward direction (releasing the brake).
4. To turn out a bolt of fastening of a brake drum, then to remove a brake drum.
5. Unlock the cap from the fit (attachment points) with light taps on the cover remover.
6. Remove the cap.
7. Remove the dodecagonal nut.
8. Remove the wheel hub with wheel bearing from the axle stub. Use a puller (standard type) Kukko (20/2).
Note. On vehicles with ABS, do not damage the ABS speed sensor when removing the inner bearing race.
9. Using a special puller, press the wheel bearing inner race off the trunnion as shown in the figure below.
Note. Be extremely careful not to damage the rear wheel speed sensor.
Installation
Note.
- Replace wheel hub with wheel bearing as a set after each removal. It is impossible for the wheel hub with the bearing to jam (skewed) on the axle stub.
- Use a new hex nut.
- Caps should be replaced after each installation (damaged caps lead to moisture penetration into the bearing).
1. Install the new wheel hub with the wheel bearing as far as possible on the axle stub until it stops, using the special tool as shown in the figure below.
2. Remove the special tool and tighten the new hex nut to the correct torque as shown in the figure below.
3. Install the brake drum, fix it with a screw.
4. Install the cap.
5. Install the wheel.
