Ensure that the vehicle is on a level surface.
Turn off the engine.
Open the engine hood.
After waiting a few minutes, remove the oil level indicator.
After wiping the oil level indicator with a clean rag, insert it again into the control hole until it stops. Then pull out the indicator again and read the oil level.
Oil level on site (A)
Oil cannot be added.
Oil level on site (b)
Oil can be topped up. It may happen that the oil level reaches the site (A).
Oil level on site (With)
Oil needs to be topped up Enough so that the oil level then reaches the area (b).
It is normal for the engine to consume some oil. Oil consumption can be up to 0.5 l/1000 km, depending on driving style and operating conditions. During the first 5,000 kilometers, consumption may be higher.
For this reason, the engine oil level should be checked at regular intervals, ideally at every refueling or before any relatively long journey.
In case of particularly heavy engine load, e.g. when driving long distances on the motorway in summer, driving with a trailer or when passing mountain passes, it is recommended to maintain the oil level within the area (A), but not higher. Too low oil level is indicated by a signaling device in the instrument panel, "Engine oil quantity" . In this case, measure the oil level as early as possible with a dipstick. Add the appropriate amount of oil.
Attention.
- Under no circumstances should the oil level rise above the (A). Risk of destruction of the exhaust gas catalytic converter.
- If for any reason you cannot provide enough engine oil, do not continue driving. Switch off the engine and seek help from a specialized service station.
