Note.
- To perform the following work, it is necessary to use the following special devices, control and measuring devices, as well as auxiliary tools:
- Collection bath -VAS 6208-.
- Pliers for spring clamps.
- Refractometer -T10007-.
Drain
Note. Drained coolant must be drained into a clean container for later use or disposal.
Attention. When the expansion tank is opened, hot steam may be released. Wear safety goggles and protective clothing to avoid injury to eyes and burns. After closing the cork with a rag, carefully open it.
1. Open the coolant cap on the expansion tank.
2. Remove the lower protective casing of the engine by unscrewing the mounting bolts shown in the figure below (arrows).
3. Place trap container -VAS S208- under engine.
For vehicles with oil drain plug
4. Turn the drain plug (arrow) on the radiator to the left side, put on, if necessary. on the auxiliary hose fitting, as shown in the figure below.
Note. Comply with the applicable standards and regulations for the disposal of coolants.
For vehicles without oil drain plug
5. Opening the spring clamp (arrow), shown in the figure below, disconnect the coolant hose from the radiator.
Note. Comply with the applicable standards and regulations for the disposal of coolants.
Refueling
Note. The appropriate antifreeze must be selected from among the fluids offered in the Škoda Genuine Parts Catalog or in the list of approved antifreezes.
1. Mix drinking water and antifreeze in a clean container in the prescribed ratio.
For vehicles with oil drain plug
2. Close the drain plug of the cooling system drain cock as shown in the figure below.
For vehicles without oil drain plug
3. Connect the disconnected coolant hose as shown in the figure below. Tighten the hose clamp
Continuation for all cars
4. Remove the coolant temperature sensor located on the thermostat housing.
5. Pour coolant slowly until it is visible in the hole for the coolant temperature sensor.
6. Install the coolant temperature sensor.
7. Pour coolant slowly up to the mark "max" on the expansion tank.
8. Close the cover of the expansion tank of the cooling system.
9. Start the engine and let it run until the cooling fan kicks in.

10. Check coolant level and. top up if necessary. When the engine is warmed up to operating temperature, the coolant level should be at "max", and for a cold engine, the level should be within the marks "min" And "max".
