Note.
- Necessary special devices, control and measuring devices, as well as auxiliary means:
- Container for collecting coolant.
- Pliers for spring clamps.
- Refractometer -T10007-.
Drain
Note. Drained coolant must be drained into a clean container for reuse or disposal.
Attention. When the coolant surge tank is opened, hot steam may escape. Wear safety goggles and protective clothing to avoid injury to eyes and burns. After closing the cork with a rag, carefully loosen it.
1. Open the cover of the expansion tank.
2. Remove the lower casing of the engine compartment.
3. Place a container under the radiator to collect the coolant.
Note.
- Depending on which parts are to be removed, the coolant must be drained from the engine cooling system, the charge air cooling system, or both.
- If it is necessary to change the coolant, both systems must be emptied.

4. Opening the spring clamp (arrow), shown in the figure below, disconnect the lower coolant hose from the connector on the engine radiator.

5. Opening the spring clamp (arrow), disconnect the lower coolant hose from the connector on the boost pressure system auxiliary cooler as shown in the figure below.
