Running in
In order to obtain the maximum service life of the vehicle and its economical operation, the following rules should be followed during the initial operation of the vehicle.
Operate the vehicle on roads with varying quality and avoid continuous driving with constant engine speed and constant speed (both high and low).
The first 1500 km of run is the grinding of moving parts of the engine. Up to 1000 km of run, do not fully depress the gas pedal, do not drive with a trailer at a speed of more than 75% of the maximum allowable and do not increase the speed by more than ¾ of the maximum. From 1000 to 1500 km of run, the speed and revolutions can be gradually increased to maximum values.
Avoid "sharp" driving style, change gears in a timely manner and avoid excessive stress on the engine. On models with a manual transmission, do not drive at too low a speed.
New brake pads do not provide full braking performance for the first 200 km. Reduced efficiency during this period can be compensated by pressing the brake pedal harder. During break-in, sudden braking and situations requiring a high load on the brakes should be avoided. For example, when driving in too dense a stream.
New tires require a break-in of approximately 500 km. During this period, the vehicle may exhibit atypical dynamic characteristics. - refrain from excessively high speeds.
Overcoming water obstacles
Moving through water obstacles is allowed only in emergency situations. In this case, the water should not be higher than the lower edge of the body in the gap between the doors, and the speed should not exceed the speed of a pedestrian. Such trips should not be the norm. If water enters the air filter, the engine may be damaged. Always turn off the system before crossing an import obstacle "Start-Stop" (see Section 18).
When driving through a water obstacle, special care should be taken. Move slowly without stopping. First, make sure that there are no holes or open wells under the water. A strong current can carry a car.
After overcoming the water barrier, on the first safe section of the road, do the following:
- lightly depress the brake pedal and check whether full braking is ensured;
- check the operation of the horn;
- make sure the car's lighting fixtures are fully operational;
- check the operation of the power steering.
Riding on salt water is not allowed, because. salt is corrosive. After overcoming an obstacle from salt water, the body should be washed with fresh water.
