Attention: Use of the tempostat during heavy traffic (for example in the city), on slippery or winding roads, or in other driving situations that may force you to change speed, you may lose control of your vehicle. The use of the cruise control does not release the driver from the responsibility of maintaining the speed and distance appropriate for each specific driving situation.
The tempostat is an optional equipment and is designed to maintain a constant vehicle speed (not lower than 30 km/h) without the need to keep your foot on the gas pedal, if only the power unit can provide this. The tempostat is controlled using the switches on the left steering column switch (see illustration 16.1). The operation of the tempostat is indicated by means of the corresponding K/L green color in the instrument cluster (see Section 13).
16.1 Switches for control of the post-post on the left steering column switch
A Rocker switch "ON/CANCEL/OFF"
B Face key with provisions "RES/+" And "SET/-"
To turn the tempostat on/off, move the toggle switch (And in illustration 16.1) in position accordingly "ON" or "OFF". After turning on the tempostat, you can enter the value of the maintained speed into its memory, deactivate and reactivate the tempostat. On models with DSG, the tempostat cannot be turned on when the selector lever is in the positions "R", "N" or "R". When the tempostat is turned off, the K / L in the instrument cluster goes out, and the set speed is deleted from its memory.
To set the supported driving speed. accelerate the car to the required speed (at least 30 km/h) and press the underside of the end key ("SET/-"), - the corresponding K/L will light up in the instrument cluster. Now you can take your foot off the gas pedal.
Note: The thermostat automatically maintains the engine torque at a level that ensures movement at a given speed. When driving on slopes, the vehicle speed may exceed the set speed, since the cruise control is not connected to the brake system. In this case, you should press the brake pedal and, if necessary, switch to a lower gear. On models with a manual transmission, with cruise control engaged, be sure to depress the clutch pedal before moving the gearshift lever to neutral. Otherwise, the maximum allowable engine speed may be exceeded.
With each subsequent short press on the top or bottom side of the end key (In illustration 16.1) the speed of the car, and with it the value of the maintained speed, will increase or decrease accordingly by 1 km/h. Hold the key up or down to continuously change the set speed and vehicle speed. If you release the end key at a speed of less than 30 km / h. the current speed is not stored in memory, and the memory is cleared.
For a temporary increase in speed (for example, when overtaking) press the gas pedal; after releasing the gas pedal, the previously selected constant speed will automatically be set. If the current speed exceeded the set speed by more than 10 km/h for more than 5 minutes, the set speed is erased from the memory.
To cancel maintaining the set speed, set the toggle switch (And in illustration 16.1) into position "CANCEL". - K / L in the instrument cluster will go out, but the set speed will not be deleted from the memory. In addition, maintaining the set speed is canceled automatically when the brake or clutch pedal is pressed, and also at speeds below 20 km/h.
To return to the previously set sustained speed after canceling it, return the toggle switch (A) into position "ON" or press the top edge of the end key (IN). A return to the maintained speed also occurs after releasing the brake or clutch pedal and then pressing the upper edge of the end key.
