2. If a leak is detected, drain the remaining working fluid by removing the plug (see resist. illustration), repair the leak and tighten the plug to 30 Nm.
6.2 DSG drain plug
3. Set the selector lever to position "R". Remove the air cleaner (see chapter 4), the battery and its pallet (see chapter 5), because they block access to the filling hole.
4. Using the MP8-602/1 tool, separate the selector cable from the DSG (And in illustration 4.4).
5. Remove the lock washer from the selector cable in the direction of the arrow (see illustration 4.5), - the cable must remain in the installation position.
Note: The lock washer must not be reused. Do not bend the selector cable and do not squeeze it out of the support in the rear direction - the cable is removed from the holder when the selector mechanism is removed.
6. Set the selector lever on the DSG to position "R", moving it all the way towards the cable holder, as indicated on the resist. illustrations.
6.6 Regulation "R" selector lever on DSG
7. Remember the installation position of the lever and remove it from the selector shaft, and then remove the cover (see resist. illustration). A leaking cap should be replaced.

8. Pour exactly 1.7 liters of DSG gear oil through the opening (G 052 171).
9. Lubricate the gland with G052 128A1 grease before installing the cover. Install the cover and lever using a new bolt to secure the lever. Tighten the cover fastening bolts with a force of 8 Nm, and the lever bolt with a force of 15 Nm.
10. Connect the selector cable to the selector lever and fix the cable in the holder with a new clamp.
11. Install the battery with its tray.
12. Check and, if necessary, adjust the selector cable (see Section 7).
13. Install the air cleaner.
