Warning: If the seat belts have been stressed in an accident, they must be replaced. When removing the clips and fasteners of the belt, note the sequence of installation of the spacers, washers, etc., and install them in the same sequence.
Removing
Front strap
1. Squeeze out the plastic cover, and unscrew the upper belt clip.
2. Unscrew the lower belt clip.
3. Remove the B-pillar trim panel (Chapter 22), and unscrew the seat belt tensioner from the body (photo).
4. Press the lining, then unscrew the seat belt buckles from their brackets (photo).
Rear belt
5. Remove the document shelf. Release the straps from the seat, then fold the seat forward.
6. Remove the carpet in the luggage compartment. and unscrew the belt buckle from the floor. Please note that the center strap (belt) can be fully opened (photo).
7. Wring out the plastic cover, and unscrew the upper belt clip (photo).
8. Unscrew the lower belt clip from the body (photo).
9. Unscrew the seat belt tensioner from the body (photo).
10. Pass the strap through the groove in the document shelf holder and remove it, being careful not to damage the strap material with the plastic.
Installation
11. Install in the reverse order of removal, tighten all fastening bolts with a tightening torque regulated specifications. Make sure the latches move freely.
