1. Thermal valve; 2. Fuel inlet and filter; 3. Air damper; 4. Float chamber opening; 5. gas bubble separator (steam trap); 6. Note: Please refer to the warning in the Chapter 1.
Removing
1. Remove the air filter assembly (Chapter 2).
2. Disconnect the throttle cable from the carburetor and mounting/adjustment bracket (Chapter 7).
3. (Engine must be cold), loosen the expansion tank filler cap. Pinch the coolant hoses near the carburetor connections, then loosen the mounting brackets and disconnect the hoses from the carburetor (see illustration).
4. Separate the green wire (from the main braid) on the carburetor.
5. Separate the brown ground strap from the carburetor mounting bolt (see illustration).
6. Disconnect the three hoses from the steam trap (see illustration).
7. Unscrew the three mounting screws, and carefully lift the carburetor off the manifold (see illustration).
Installation
8. Install in reverse order. Install a new gasket between the carburetor and manifold. Be careful not to overtighten the fasteners. Adjust the throttle cable as described in Chapter 7.
9. Install the air cleaner assembly as described in Chapter 2.
10. Check the coolant level and top up if necessary.
