Removing
1. Remove the air cleaner cover as described in Chapter 2.
2. At the throttle body, disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle shaft plate, and separate the end of the cable.
3. Remove the adjusting bracket and remove the cable cover from the mounting bracket (see illustration).
4. Guided Section 11, remove the trim panel from below the steering column.
5. Under the panel, lightly press down on the throttle, then release the end of the cable from the pedal extension rod lever.
6. Pass the cable through the bulkhead into the engine compartment.
Installation
7. Install the cable in the reverse order of removal.
Adjustment
8. In the throttle body, secure the cable housing to the mounting bracket by inserting a metal clip into one of the slots (see illustration) so that when the gas pedal is fully depressed, the throttle valve is fully open and rests against the limiter.
