1. Check engine oil and coolant levels again. Be sure to connect all wires and hoses and do not leave any tools or rags in the engine compartment.
2. Remove the spark plugs, turn off the ignition system by connecting the coil high voltage wire to ground. Turn the engine over with the starter until the oil pressure warning light goes out.
3. Install spark plugs and connect all high voltage wires.
4. Start the engine, bearing in mind that this may take a little longer than usual.
5. Inspect the idling engine for fuel, water, and oil leaks. When starting for the first time, smoke and a burning smell may appear due to the grease burning out.
6. Let the engine idle until hot water flows through the top hose. Check the ignition timing and idle speed and mixture, then stop the engine.
7. After waiting a few minutes, recheck the oil and coolant levels and top up as needed.
8. There is no need to re-tighten the cylinder head bolts.
9. If new pistons, rings or crankshaft bearings have been installed, the engine needs a break-in. For the first 800 km, do not turn on full throttle and do not overload it at low speeds. After running in, it is recommended to change the oil and filter.
