Removal and installation of door glasses and window regulators

Removing

Remove the door trim panel (see Section Removal and installation of panels of an internal upholstery of doors).

Front door glass

1. Turn out fixing screws, remove washers, disconnect the internal handle from an executive rod and remove it from a door.

2. Carefully separate the top edge of the insulating film from the door in order to provide access to the power window regulator mechanism.

3. Lower the glass so that the bolts of its fastening to the regulator are accessible through a special window in the door frame.



4. Carefully release the lower sealing tape from the window opening and remove it from the door.

5. Turn out four bolts of fastening of a window glass to a regulator of a window regulator, remove washers, then lift glass up and take it from a door.

Front door window regulator mechanism

1. Follow the procedures described in paragraphs 2 to 4.




2. The components of the power window mechanism are shown in the illustration. Remove the four bolts securing the glass to the window regulator, remove the washers, then raise the glass to the top position and tape it to the door frame.

3. On the models equipped with the electric drive of window regulators, release a clamp and disconnect a socket of an electric wiring of a driving motor.

4. On all models, loosen the nuts securing the regulator assembly to the door frame, remove the washers, then carefully remove the assembly through the hole provided.

Rear door glass

1. Turn out screws of fastening of the internal handle of the lock, remove washers, then disconnect the handle from an executive rod of the lock and remove it from a door.


2. Carefully separate the top edge of the insulating film from the door frame to provide access to the power window regulator mechanism.



3. Fully lower the glass, then release the lower sealing tape of the window opening from the door frame.



4. Loosen the screws securing the guide chute to the door to the door, then remove the chute assembly with the rear window fixed glass from the door frame.


5. Mark around the perimeter of the washers of the bolts securing the glass to the window regulator with a marker.


6. Turn out bolts of fastening of glass, remove washers, then lift glass upwards and take it from a door frame.

Rear window regulator mechanism

1. The components of the power window mechanism are shown in the illustration. Follow the procedures described in paragraphs 2 to 4.

2. Circle the washers of the bolts that secure the window glass to the power window regulator with a marker.

3. Turn out bolts of fastening of glass to a regulator, remove washers, then lift glass to the top position and glue it with an adhesive tape to a door frame.

4. Loosen the nuts securing the regulator assembly to the door frame, remove the washers, then carefully remove the assembly through the hole provided.

Installation

Installation is in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following points:

• a) Make sure that the sealing tapes of the window openings are installed correctly;
• b) When installing the glass, make sure that it fits correctly in the guide grooves. Firmly tighten the bolts securing the glass to the regulator;
• c) Before reinstalling the insulation film and door trim panel (see Section Removal and installation of panels of an internal upholstery of doors), check the operation of the power window. If necessary, minor adjustments can be made by loosening the mounting bolts and adjusting the position of the glass on the regulator.
