Checking and repairing the vacuum pump (diesel models)

1. The correct functioning of the vacuum pump of the brake system can be checked using a vacuum gauge.

2. Disconnect the vacuum tube from the pump. Connect a vacuum gauge to the released fitting using a piece of suitable hose.

3. Start the engine and let it idle for a while, then measure the vacuum developed by the pump. Approximately, after a minute, the depth of rarefaction should be about 500 mm Hg. Art. At significantly lower values, the pump is faulty and needs to be replaced - contact a Skoda service center for help.

4. Restorative repair of the vacuum pump is not possible due to the lack of individual sales of the necessary spare parts. In case of failure, the entire assembly should be replaced.
