General information
In case of failure of any incandescent lamps, attention should be paid to the following points:
- a) Before replacing, disconnect the negative cable from the battery (see the remark given in Section General information and precautions);
- b) Remember that a lamp that has just been lit remains very hot for some time;
- c) Try not to touch the lamp bulb with bare fingers and do not leave greasy spots on it, which cause a decrease in the brightness of the glow and a gradual dimming of the reflector;
- d) Check the quality of the electrical contact between the lamp base and the terminals of its cartridge. Before installing a new lamp, clean the terminals from traces of corrosion. In bayonet-type lamps, make sure that the contacts of the cartridge are pressed tightly against the base terminals;
- e) Make sure that the replacement lamp matches the electrical characteristics of the failed lamp.
Headlights
1. Turn the access cover counterclockwise and remove it from the back of the headlight.
2. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the lamp.
3. Release the latches and remove the bulb with the cartridge from the back of the headlamp. Remove the lamp from the socket.
4. Try not to touch the bulb of the new lamp with bare fingers - use a paper towel or napkin. Accidentally left stains can be removed by wiping the flask with methanol.
5. Install the new bulb, making sure the assembly fits properly in the headlamp.
6. Connect the wiring and install the access cover (label "TOR" up).
