Preparation
In the event of a tire puncture, try to brake the vehicle without delay without losing control of the vehicle.
Park the car away from the roadway on a flat horizontal area, if possible with a hard surface.
If necessary, turn on the hazard warning lights and place a warning triangle on the roadway in front of the parking area.
Engage the parking brake and shift the transmission into first or reverse gear (RKPP), or in position "R" (AT).
Support with wedges the wheel located diagonally from the wheel to be replaced (in extreme cases, a pair of stones of sufficient size will do).
In the case of a soft surface of the site, place something like a piece of board under the heel of the jack.
How to perform the procedure
1. The spare wheel and tools are stored in a special well in the luggage compartment of the car. Unscrew the mat and remove the cover panel. Remove the jack and tools from the well. Release the lock, remove the spare wheel and place it under the threshold of the vehicle near the wheel to be replaced.
2. Pry with a screwdriver and remove the decorative cap of the disc of the wheel to be replaced, thereby providing access to the fixing bolts. In the case of cast rims, the dismantling of the decorative caps is carried out using a special wrench, usually included in the standard tool kit.
3. Use the wheelbrace to loosen the wheel bolts by half a turn. If any of the bolts does not give in, you should not try to move it from its place by standing on the wrench handle - contact a tire shop for help.
4. Drive the jack to the appropriate jacking point near the failed wheel and ensure that the heel of the jack rests on the hard surface. By turning the handle, achieve a tight stop of the heel of the jack into the ground. Make sure that the jack head is securely fixed in the threshold groove.
5. Raise the vehicle until the wheel is off the ground. If the tire is flat, make sure you have the stock needed to install an inflated spare tire.
6. Turn out fixing bolts, remove a wheel and, having changed its places with a spare tire, put under a threshold of the car near a jacking point.
7. Install the spare wheel and secure it with the bolts, tightening them moderately with the wheelbrace. Lower the vehicle to the ground, remove the jack and finally tighten the wheel bolts diagonally. Replace the disc cover.
Finally
Remove the wedges from under the wheels.
Put the tool and the removed wheel in their original places.
Check the inflation pressure of the spare tire installed to replace the flat tire. If you don't have an accurate pressure gauge handy, drive the car slowly to the nearest workshop where you can check the pressure.
Take the punctured wheel to a tire shop for repair as soon as possible.
Tighten the wheel bolts to the required torque as soon as possible.
