1. Over time, moisture contained in diesel fuel accumulates inside the fuel filter, which should be drained periodically.
2. The fuel filter is installed in the right rear corner of the engine compartment.
3. Remove the R-shaped retainer located at the top of the fuel filter and remove the control valve, leaving the fuel hoses connected.
4. Loosen the mounting bracket screw and lift the filter slightly.
5. Place a drain pan under the filter assembly and have a rag ready to catch spilled fluid.
6. Open the drain valve at the base of the filter and drain the contents of the assembly into the prepared container. Do not close the valve until about 100 cm3 has flowed out of the filter3 fuel mixed with water.
7. Replace the control valve with the R-lock. Close the drain valve and wipe it with a clean cloth.
8. Remove the drain pan and rags, insert the filter into the bracket and tighten the fixing screw firmly.
9. Start the engine and let it idle, checking the filter for signs of fuel leaks.
10. Raise the engine speed to 2000 per minute several times, immediately dropping it back to idle. Make sure there are no air bubbles in the fuel flow inside the translucent hose connected to the injection pump.
