1.3L models with SPFI
1. Loosen the wire clips around the top cover of the air cleaner housing.
2. Turn out three fixing bolts and...
...carefully lift the cover to ensure free access to the filter element. Try not to move the air cleaner housing while removing the cover.
3. Remove the filter element from the air cleaner housing.
4. Remove dust and debris from the air cleaner housing (try to keep dirt out of the throat of the throttle body. Wipe the inside of the air cleaner housing and cover.
5. In accordance with the landing marking, install a replacement filter element.
6. Close the air cleaner cover, screw in the three fixing bolts and tighten them to the required force.
7. Snap the side latches on the cover.
Models 1.3 with MPFI and 1.6 L
1. Loosen the four wire locks around the top cover of the air cleaner housing.
2. Now the cover can be raised so that it is possible to remove the filter element from the air cleaner housing - try to remember the installation position of the latter.
3. If more space is needed, use suitable pliers to compress the legs of the spring clip that mounts to the top cover of the air intake arm. Disconnect the sleeve from the cover pipe and remove the latter from the casing. Alternatively, remove the cover along with the throttle body cover.
4. Remove dust and debris from the air cleaner housing.
5. In accordance with the landing marking, install a replacement filter element. Make sure the edges of the filter fit securely.
6. Replace the top cover and secure it with four wire clamps. If removed, connect the air intake sleeve to the cover. Secure the sleeve with a spring clip. If you removed the cover without disconnecting the sleeve (together with throttle body cover), refer to the materials of the Chapter Supply system.
