Air cleaner assembly components
1 - Top cover of the air cleaner; 2 - Filter element; 3 - Valve-switch for controlling the temperature of the intake air; 4 - Sealing gasket; 5 - Air cleaner casing; 6 - Mounting plate; 7 - Vacuum capsule; 8 - Inlet neck (135V series motors); 9 - Inlet sleeve; 10 - Inlet neck (136V series motors); 11 - Rubber support pad; 12 - Support; 13 - Resonator box (136V series motors); 14 - Heated air supply hose
Removing
1. Release the wire clamps located around the perimeter of the assembly, unscrew the three fixing bolts and remove the top cover of the air cleaner. Remove the filter element.
2. Release the accelerator cable from the intermediate retainer on the front of the air cleaner housing...
disconnect the heated air supply hose from the temperature sensitive valve housing...
... on models equipped with 136B series engines, loosen the clamp and disconnect the air intake hose from the air cleaner housing or resonator box.
3. Slightly lift the air cleaner housing, separating it from the throttle body. Disconnect the vacuum control tube of the temperature-sensitive sensor-switch passing under the casing and going to the throttle body. The second vacuum hose leading to the capsule can be left connected.
4. Remove the large air vent from the engine top cover). Release the small hose coming from the engine top cover and the charcoal canister purge hose from the clips on the underside of the air cleaner housing.
5. The air cleaner cover can now be removed from the engine compartment.
6. If necessary, the air cleaner inlet on 135B series engines can be removed after the fixing screw is removed.
7. To remove the casing of the temperature-sensitive valve for controlling the temperature of the intake air, disconnect the vacuum tube from the capsule,
then release the two spring clips...
and remove the cover by sliding it forward.
8. On models equipped with a 136B series engine, a resonator box is installed inside the intake duct, which can significantly reduce the background noise intensity. The box is fastened with two nuts - one in the front and one in the back (on suspension strut). A general view of the air cleaner assembly is shown in the illustration.
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order. Check the reliability of the vacuum tube connection, the correct placement of the air cleaner housing on the throttle body (the possibility of air leaks must be completely eliminated). Check the condition of the rubber sealing gasket installed on top of the throttle body, replace if necessary.
