Removing
1. Remove the air cleaner cover (see Section Removing and installing the air cleaner assembly).
2. On the throttle body, disconnect the cable core from the throttle spindle plate - the core should be pulled back, and then disconnect the tip.
3. Remove the cap from the outer end of the cable sheath, then release the rubber grommet from the support bracket, which can later be thrown off the sheath.
4. In the passenger compartment, release the connecting nipple of the cable from the retainer at the upper end of the accelerator pedal.
5. Release the cable from the intermediate guide clips and pull it through the bulkhead of the engine compartment (take care not to damage the rubber grommet).
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order.
Adjustment
Fix the cable sheath in the support bracket on the throttle body, to do this, snap the metal retaining ring into one of the grooves of the sheath so that when the throttle actuator lever rests against the idle position stopper, all the slack in the cable is taken out.
