If during the checks there are signs of wear of the CV joints of the drive shafts, remove the decorative caps of the rims / hubs and check the correct tightening torque of the hub nuts. If any of the nuts is loose, replace it and tighten a new one to the required torque. If both nuts are tightened correctly, replace the caps.
Carry out a road test of the vehicle. If, when moving slowly in a circle with the wheels completely inverted, the hub of the inner wheel makes a grinding noise, then the outer CV joint is worn. In this situation, the hinge definitely needs to be replaced.
Increased vibration during acceleration indicates the need to check the condition of the vibration damper of the right drive shaft (see Section Removal and installation of a vibration damper of the right power shaft). If the damper is in order, the cause of vibration may be wear on the internal CV joints of the drive shafts.
To assess the degree of wear of the hinges, remove the drive shafts and disassemble them (see Section Replacement of rubber protective covers of CV joints of drive shafts). Defective CV joints must be replaced.
